Oscar Persichitti

An experienced and passionate trainer, mentor and coach, Oscar's path to training and professional development started back in 1990 when he joined the Western Australian Police Force.

For the first five years of his career, Oscar was placed in positions within the force where he was able to apply his strong work ethic and investigative skills.  This did not go unnoticed and soon after, Oscar was appointed as Detective within the Criminal Investigation Branch,  This was the beginning of an extensive and rewarding career which included positions with the Organised Crime Investigation, Fraud Squad and Armed Robbery Squad.

Oscar's policing career has enabled him to develop specialist skills in investigations and negotiation techniques as allowing him to prove his ability as an effective supervisor in the dynamic and high pressure environment that is policing.

Oscar's ability to develop others was recognised and rewarded by his appointment as a Senior Trainer at the WA Police Detective Training School, where he was responsible for the development and facilitation of Senior Detective Training.

In 1995 a twist of fate persuaded Oscar to join the Australian Army on a part-time basis.  In February 1998, Oscar successfully graduated from the Royal Military College in Duntroon.  Oscar's experiences as an Army Officer ranged from leading a troop of soldiers in a field environment to his appointment of Captain, (Officer in Charge) of 24th Military Police Platoon.

Oscar uses his experiences in leading teams in high pressure and dynamic environments to benefit business managers in the corporate sector.   He has worked with organisations in a variety of industries and sectors, which has  included specialised training to Members of Parliament from WA Parliament.

Oscar's leadership philosophy is simple. Leadership is not about "talking the talk"!   Employees look to their managers for role models so "talking the talk" soon creates credibility and trust issues, leading to a deterioration of the manager/employee relationship.   Leaders need to "walk the talk" and build relationships inside and outside the organisation.  Creating a leadership culture within the organisation will empower staff to act with initiative and provide leadership to the benefit of the company and their customers.

As an opportunity to benefit from his many years of communicating with different members of the community, Oscar is currently a Reseller Agent for a broadband company and is enjoying the challenge of consultative selling and building relationships with private and business customers.

Oscar believes the key that drives team success is not processes alone but the ability to foster an individual's needs, trust, and the ability to build strong team cohesion.

Oscar has been described as a 'dynamic' facilitator with a passionate style.
He believes in every message and skill he teaches as he has seen them applied successfully time and time again.
